1. Take a Walk on the Gatlinburg Trail

Owners can enjoy the beauty of the Smokies alongside their pets on the Gatlinburg Trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This is a flat 3.9-mile route that runs along the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River. Hikers will walk across it using one of the longest footbridges in the park. Interesting things to look out for include an old homestead. It is a remnant of the once-thriving settlement in the area. During your hike, be sure to keep Fido on a leash that is no more than 6 inches in length. While the Gatlinburg Trail is the only pet-friendly trail on the Tennessee side of the Smoky Mountains, pets are also permitted in picnic areas. This means that you can unwind after your walk with a delicious homemade lunch.
