1. Dig’n Zone Theme Park
Dig’n Zone Theme Park is the hottest new family destination in the Smokies and offers guests of all ages the opportunity to ride, operate and drive real construction equipment! You’ll quickly discover that this isn’t your typical theme park experience as you hop in the driver’s seat of a pavement roller to crush a car, operate a bulldozer to dig deep into the earth and take a spin on an authentic John Deere tractor! This is all adult-sized equipment that has been modified to be safe for everyone, so be sure to add Dig’n Zone Theme park to your 2024 vacation plans!
2. Dolly Parton Experience
Speaking of theme parks, you’ll want to head to Dollywood this year to check out the Dolly Parton Experience! This new attraction is housed in multiple buildings and takes guests through the life of the iconic country singer with a number of interactive elements! As you explore the buildings, you’ll feel as if you are truly alongside Dolly as she journeyed from Locust Ridge to stages around the world! The Dolly Parton Experience provides guests more Dolly than ever, as it is three times the size of the former Chasing Rainbows Museum!
3. Crayola Experience
Another one of the top new things to do in the Smoky Mountains in 2024 is the Crayola Experience, which is set to open in the fall! The 30,000-square-foot indoor family entertainment center in Pigeon Forge will have over 20 hands-on attractions and a retail store featuring the world’s largest selection of Crayola products! Visitors will delight in innovative attractions, as well as one-of-a-kind Crayola Experience activities such as naming their own Crayola crayon, starring in their own coloring page, and creating melted wax art!
4. NERF Action-Xperience
The NERF Action-Xperience is also slated to open in the fall and will share its location in Pigeon Forge with the Crayola Experience! This 29,000-square-foot, foam-filled attraction will feature blaster battle zones, sports challenges, an obstacle course, a food and beverage area, and a retail store! If you kids love playing with their NERF toys at home, just wait until they get a chance to step inside the NERF Action-Xperience!
5. Astra Lumina Expansions at Anakeesta
When it comes to the new things to do in the Smoky Mountains in 2024, you won’t want to miss two expansions to the Astra Lumina night walk experience at Anakeesta that are expected to open soon! Nebular Waves will be a new installation that invites visitors to observe what happens when stars dream as they discover ethereal and undulating waves of light that washes over them. Anakeesta is also updating the Astral Genesis installation with a new light show!
