Paula Deen Will Be Spending Summer in the Smokies

Southern cooking in Pigeon Forge will be stepping it up a notch, welcoming celebrity chef Paula Deen’s ‘Family Kitchen.’ Located at The Island in Pigeon Forge, Paula Deen’s restaurant will be a big hit for the Smoky Mountain area. Featuring Southern favorites like savory fried chicken and creamy mashed potatoes, visitors should go ahead and mark this spot on their map.

Recently announced by local news station WBIR, Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen is expected to have 20,000 square feet of space with a projected design, construction and operation budget of $20 million. The project will be completed sometime in late summer 2014.

Other Restaurants at The Island in Pigeon Forge

Currently, The Island is home to local favorite, Timberwood Grill, and well-known pizza place, Mellow Mushroom.

The Island in Pigeon Forge is expanding, too. The Pigeon Forge restaurant is one of a few new eateries making their way to the Smoky Mountains. Other restaurants like Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville and Dick’s Last Resort will soon have a permanent location in Pigeon Forge.

Currently at the popular Pigeon Forge attraction, visitors will find a number of fun things to do like take a ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel that stands 20 feet tall with 42 climate-controlled, glass gondolas or play in the huge arcade for great prizes.
