5 Things to Do When You Stay in Our Pet Friendly Smoky Mountain Cabin Rentals

If you’re planning a trip to the Smokies and you’d like to bring your pets along with you, look no further than our pet friendly Smoky Mountain cabin rentals! We take the fuss out of vacation planning by allowing you to bring your four-legged friends with you to enjoy all that the Smokies have to offer. Here are a few great ways to bring your pets along and have an enjoyable stay in our pet friendly Smoky Mountain cabin rentals:

1. Take a Walk in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Take a wak in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Our pet friendly Smoky Mountain cabin rentals are conveniently located near several great attractions that allow dogs, including the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Take your family for an afternoon picnic and feel free to bring your pet(s) along with you, so long as they’re on a leash. Dogs are welcome at all campgrounds, picnic areas and along roads but only on two of the park’s walking trails: the Gatlinburg Trail and the Oconaluftee River Trail.

The Gatlinburg Trail is a 1.9-mile long, one-way trail that will take you from the Sugarlands Visitor Center to the outskirts of the city of Gatlinburg. This trail is popular amongst pet walkers, as it is relatively flat, but still allows you to experience the beautiful scenery of the forest that runs along the Little Pigeon River, as well as a few chimneys and ruins of old homesites.

A bit shorter, the Oconaluftee River Trail is 1.5 miles long and runs one-way from the Oconaluftee River Visitor Center to the outskirts of Cherokee, NC. Its few small hills make it an enjoyable walk that still feels mountainous and allows you gorgeous views of the Oconaluftee River.

2. Leave Your Pet at “Doggywood”

Leave your pet at Doggywood

Planning to spend the day at Dollywood, but don’t want to leave Fido cooped up in a crate? While pets are not allowed in Dollywood’s main park, Doggywood is a great alternative way for your pet to spend the day. Doggywood opens 30 minutes prior to Dollywood’s opening time and service is on a first-come, first-serve basis, but reservations are highly recommended. Choose to reserve a kennel run for just $25 or a cottage for $35 for the day and you’ll be sure that your pet will have almost as much fun as you do! *This pricing is subject to change without notice.

3. Ride the Gatlinburg Sky Lift

Enjoy the scenery without the work — take a ride on the Gatlinburg Sky Lift and bring your dog along with you! The Sky Lift offers you (and your dog) spectacular views of Gatlinburg and surrounding areas, and pets ride free!

Head down from the Gatlinburg Sky Lift to The Village Shops and explore one-of-a-kind stores with your pet by your side. The wooded areas are great for taking your pet on a walk while family members gather souvenirs, and don’t forget to stop in at Simply Animals and grab a few treats or toys for your pet while you’re there!

5. Take the Whole Family to Dinner

There are many places in the area where the whole family can dine together outside of the walls of our pet friendly Smoky Mountain cabin rentals. A number of restaurants with outdoor patios welcome leashed dogs, including: the Chop House, Fox & Parrot Tavern, Best Italian, Crystelle Creek Restaurant & Grill, Wild Plum Tea Room and more.
