Big Change Announced for Car Show in Pigeon Forge

Yellow and red cars at a car showHave you ever been to a car show in Pigeon Forge? When you visit during a rod run or car show, you’ll see a variety of classic cars driving up and down the Parkways. This year, the area has announced a big change for the Pigeon Forge Rod Run.

Big Change to the Pigeon Forge Rod Run

After 31 years in the same location, The Mountain Press has reported that the popular car show is moving to a new location. For the first year, the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge will host the event from April 11-12. Like always, the show will have cars, awards and plenty of door prizes (including an $8,000 cash giveaway!).

According to The Mountain Press, there will be approximately 40 cars inside while others will line the Parkway. When you’re visiting the area during rod run time, you won’t be able to miss the antique cars and brightly colored vehicles.

If you’re planning to sit along the Parkway and watch as vehicles drive by, we recommend packing a picnic blanket or fold-up chairs. Some families like to pack coolers with lunch and beverages, so they don’t have to miss out on any of the action. The weather will be warm, so make sure to dress accordingly. It’s also a good idea to wear tennis shoes if you plan to walk up and down the Parkway, exploring the cars.

For true fans of car shows in Pigeon Forge, a special celebrity guest will be at this year’s event. Michael Henry from the History Channel’s “Counting Cars” is a well-known airbrush artist who loves all things related to cars.

2015 Event Details

There’s no guarantee that next year’s event will be held at the LeConte Center, so make sure to keep checking back for more details. We will keep visitors up to date as soon as we receive details about the 2015 event.
