Watch Artists at Work at the Thanksgiving Craft Show

Pens, brushes, chalk, and paint for arts and craftsAre you looking for beautiful handcrafted Christmas gifts? The Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community is hosting a Thanksgiving Craft Show at the Gatlinburg Convention Center from November 26 – December 1, 2013.  Conveniently located in downtown Gatlinburg, this Gatlinburg event will feature over 100 artists and crafters producing works of art before your eyes.

The Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community continues the Southern Appalachian tradition of handmade art. Some of the artists and crafters who form the Community can trace their lineage back three or four generations to artisans who settled in the Smokies during the 1760s. Today, members of the Arts and Crafts Community are famous for their wood carvings, quilting, painting, pottery, weaving, broom making and more.

These seasoned artists will demonstrate their skills at the Thanksgiving Craft Show. Admission to the Craft Show is completely free, and guests will have the chance to purchase the original works of art created at the event. Gatlinburg has the largest group of independent artists and craftsmen in the nation, so you are sure to see an expansive selection of artwork. The show hours are from 10 am – 5 pm, Monday through Thursday, 10 am – 6 pm, Friday through Saturday, and 10 am – 4 pm on Sunday.
