Your Ultimate Packing Guide for a Vacation in the Smoky Mountains

If you’re planning a trip to the Smokies soon, it’s important to make a detailed packing list of all the things you may need during your stay! While our cabins provide loads of amenities that’ll narrow down your list, there are still a few items we recommend packing yourself. Here is the ultimate packing guide for a vacation in the Smoky Mountains:

1. Groceries

groceriesOur cabins are equipped with outdoor grills, so it’s always fun to plan an outdoor meal! Having a cabin cookout is a great way to spend time enjoying the mountain views while being outside with your friends or family! Don’t forget all of your groceries so you can cook the perfect burger! In order to not go to a grocery store, use Smoky Mountain Grocery! They will deliver all of your cookout needs directly to your cabin!

2. Disposable Dishware

Paper products come in handy while during a vacation in the Smoky Mountains. Paper plates and paper towels are excellent for in-cabin meals or cookouts. With paper products, you won’t have to do the dishes and clean up will be simple. As well as paper products, it is a good idea to pack some trash bags and dishwashing liquid!

3. Toiletries

toiletriesSome of the most important things to remember are your toiletry items! Items such as shampoo and soap can be easily forgotten. Don’t forget items like a hair dryer, hair spray or other beauty supplies you may use regularly! While you’ll probably be spending most of your time in the Smokies outdoors, you’ll want to look and small nice when you go out for dinner or to see a show!

4. Laundry Supplies

When you are packing for your stay in the Smokies, you can pack a little bit lighter when you choose to stay in one of our cabins! Our rentals are equipped with washers and dryers, so make sure you pack enough detergent to do a couple of loads of laundry! Many convenient stores sell travel packets of detergent, so you don’t have to take a large container!

5. Hiking Gear

If you want to hike some of the more strenuous trails in the mountains, you want to make sure you have the proper footwear. If you don’t have good shoes, stop by Nantahala Outdoor Center in downtown Gatlinburg and pick some up. You should also bring things like sunscreen, bug spray, and plenty of water and snacks.

6. Electronics Chargers

We know you’ve come to the Smokies to get away from technology, but that doesn’t mean you should leave your chargers at home. A phone or camera charger is one of the easiest things to forget, so make sure to put in on your list! You don’t want to be in the middle of taking a family picture on a mountain top or using your GPS to find a Pigeon Forge attraction and have your phone die.

Now that you have the ultimate packing list, you won’t forget anything! While writing your packing list for your next vacation in the Smoky Mountains, review our Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge cabins for the best selection of rentals in the area!
