39th Annual Gatlinburg Summer Craftsmen Fair

artscraftsThe 39th Annual Gatlinburg Summer Craftsmen Fair is one of the Southeast’s most popular events! The fair showcases over 200 booths featuring the goods of local crafters and artisans.

It is required that the artist who designs and produces the work must be at the show, this creates a unique chance to hear the stories and the process behind the pieces. Some of the crafters also demonstrate their skill throughout the day and produce pieces on-site. You’ll be able to watch an artist paint a gorgeous portrait, see a potter form a perfect clay bowl or see a jeweler bend wire to create beautiful earring and necklace set. There will be crafters present specialized in almost every type of skill you can imagine!

This year the fair has partnered up with Smoky Mountain Area Rescue Ministries to create a children’s area for children ages 2 and up. The children’s area will feature arts and crafts projects ranging from making necklaces to painting birdhouses. The best part is that the children’s area will be FREE!

There’s also free live country and bluegrass music at the event each day! Dennis Lee and Band and Tim Watson, “The Fiddle Man,” will have performances at 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The Gatlinburg Craftsmen Fair is a great place to pick up one of a kind gifts for family and friends and unique souvenirs for yourself.

This year the Gatlinburg Craftsmen Fair is being held July 19-27 at the Gatlinburg Convention Center located at Light #8 in Downtown Gatlinburg. The fair takes place 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except for Sunday, when it is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission for adults is $6; children 12 and under are admitted free.
