We know that pets are part of the family too, so you’ll be excited to know that we offer lots of dog friendly cabins in the Smokies! The other awesome news is that there are plenty of fun pet-friendly things to do with your canine companion near our cabins, ranging from beautiful mountain trails to leash-free dog parks! Here are 4 great places to take your pet while staying at our dog friendly cabins in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge:

1. Gatlinburg Trail

The Gatlinburg Trail is one of the few places in Great Smoky Mountains National Park that allows dogs, so you don’t want to miss this special opportunity! The trail travels for 1.9 miles from the Sugarlands Visitor Center to the outskirts of Gatlinburg, running through the forest alongside the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River. It offers stunning views of the river, which is crossed at one point by a pedestrian foot bridge. You’ll also have the opportunity to see the foundations and chimneys of several old homesites while exploring the Gatlinburg Trail!

This dog park is operated by the City of Gatlinburg and features separate fenced-in areas for large dogs and small dogs, as well as a double-gated entrance to prevent dogs from getting loose. Both fenced-in areas offer lots of rooms for your pet to exercise and play off-leash, as well as shaded areas, turfed grass areas, benches, dog waste bags, and trash cans. You’ll also find water fountains just outside the gates of the large and small dog parks.

3. PetSafe Unleashed Dog Park

The PetSafe Unleashed Dog Park is an amazing dog park designed to give dogs a safe space to run and enjoy the outdoors! The park is conveniently located within the Sevierville City Park, making it easy for both residents and visitors to enjoy. There are separate areas for large and small breeds, as well as double fence entry, agility equipment, and water. You’ll even find shaded benches and Wi-Fi access so that you can relax while watching your pet have a blast!
