Flying Through the Trees

Man zip lining through the woodsThis past week I was given the opportunity to visit, the #1 zipline and canopy tour company in the Smokies, Climbworks Canopy Tours. It was a very exhilarating and adrenaline filled afternoon. It was also very educational. The guides were very knowledgeable about the ecosystem and the effect that a canopy tour can have on the trees. From the very beginning of the 2 1/2 hour tour, I encountered some of the most incredible views of The Smokies that I have ever seen.
We zipped down a total of 9 zip lines. We even zipped upside down on one zip.  There is no hand braking involved here, it is all gravity braking.
This basically means that you just sit back, enjoy the ride, and let the guides do the work. I can’t say enough about the guides. They are very professional and are very good at what they do. They can make even the most timid 1st timer feel comfortable almost right away.
Climbworks is still expanding. They have just purchased an additional 110 acres of land with which, they are building the areas 1st mountain biking course. So, when staying in one of our luxury log homes, definitely try to check out CLIMBWORKS.
