What people are saying about this property
The rental and on-line process was easy and convenient. The staff answered all questions when I needed to call. The cabin was clean, ready upon our arrival. We have stayed at Aunt Bug's rentals in the past and will continue to do so. Thank You.
Great place! Very roomy. Family vacation with 9 people had a wonderful time!
everything was clean and i definitely recommended they have everything to spend a good vacations
Check in and out was easy. The downstairs game room was great. We had 6 kids and 3 adults and had plenty of room. Beds were clean and comfortable. Plenty of towels. Kitchen had everything you need. Nice woodsy location/views. It was nice to have the grill, fireplace, and laundry. Upon arriving I immediately left mgmt a message about a couple minor issues, they got back with us the next eve and came out the following morning. Bath water and hot tub water is cloudy/rusty, it may be well water. Carpets need cleaned badly. Pictures in advertisement are older pics. Housekeeping could do a bit better on cleaning.
Overall, it was a pretty good trip. The cabin was nice and a quiet location. We never could get the hot tub to go under 109 degrees, even after having the maintenance guy out twice. I believe they were going to send some VIP thing for next time, but never heard/saw anything with that. The cabin was clean and ready, but the master bed was ok comfortable.
Upon arrival, cabin was tidy. My husband enjoyed making woodfires in the fireplace every night. NOTE: You'll need to buy the wood along with lighter. Long lighter is best. If you like sports and ESPN, it's not available. This cabin does provide a DVD player and a fair selection if DVD movies. The cabin is not secluded but it's quiet with occasional vehicle driving past. We did find cabin with little issues but I suggest Aunt Bug make bigger signs and the directions are slightly off especially when you get to three way and the middle road is what you take. Just take a second or two and you see where you need to go. The directions will get you to cabin. Make sure you check in before dark. It will make it hard first time.
Everything as advertised good customer service provided along with web support
Was a nice cabin. It’s away from all the craziness of pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg but close enough if you want to go. It’s no where from Cades Cove. Everything is nice about the Cabin except the beds. They need to be updated. The sofa bed was very springy and uncomfortable. The breaker kept throwing in the kitchen but we just flipped it and went on about our business. But for the most part we enjoyed our stay.
The location of the property was very nice. Beautiful cabin. However, it wasn’t as clean I would have expected for the extra 200.00 that I paid. There were bugs in the oven, crawling across the floor. Cob webs in the corners. The fireplace wasn’t cleaned. The ash bucket was full that we couldn’t clean it. The couch downstairs was worn out. The king beds were very uncomfortable. There was only towels in 2 of the 4 bathrooms. The hot tub was dirty, wasn’t turned on, took all night and half the next day to get warm. Bring your own pans, cause we couldn’t even make eggs they stuck horribly. The oven stunk with the dead bugs after we had put biscuits in we had to throw them out and open the doors to air out the cabin. It was decorated nicely fir Christmas. Plenty of space fir a family. The game room was very nice. Other than housekeeping, overalll a nice cabin. I thunk the owners would not be happy with the housekeeper.
Made Check-in and Check-out very convenient so all we had to do is enjoy the cabin
Loved it. Beautiful house and beautiful scenery. Would definitely come back.
Cabin was spacious and nice but needed some cleaning done to it, it was a little dusty but not too bad.
-How is the drive to this cabin?
The drive to this cabin is steep and windy in areas . No 4 wheel drive necessary except during winter weather.
-How close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is this cabin?
This cabin is 12.3 miles from the parkway of Pigeon Forge .
-How many vehicles will fit in the driveway?
We recommend bringing no more than 4 vehicles, of any size.
-Do I need to bring extra toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, soap, etc?
YES… We provide 1 roll of toilet paper per restroom, one trash bag per trash can, 1 roll of paper towels in the kitchen. You are responsible for bringing your own extras. In this cabin, we also provide 18 towels and 12 wash clothes, 3 hand towels and dishwasher detergent. We do not provide shampoo, conditioner, lotions, laundry detergent, coffee or coffee filters, salt and pepper, charcoal for grills, daily maid service or flashlights/candles/matches (too often these items were taken home by guests so we stopped providing them).
-Is this cabin dog friendly?
NO… And we charge $500 when evidence of a dog/animal is found inside the unit.
-Can I use the fireplace year round?
No. Local fire codes restrict the use of fireplaces April through September and we take this very seriously.
-Will I encounter wildlife?
Possibly. Black bears are attracted to food, so DO NOT leave food in your vehicles or unaccompanied food on decks and porches and grills. If you want to go outside and there is a bear outside, make loud noises they will leave. If you pull up to your cabin and there is a bear in the yard, blow the horn. They will leave.
And remember, you are surrounded by flourishing nature and a national wildlife reserve, so it’s not unusual for small animals to be heard around the house or bugs to get into your cabin. We do a very good job of spotting and cleaning bugs before your arrival, but we cannot guarantee they won’t return, just as you can’t prevent 100% of bugs from entering your own home. Please be respectful of the fact that we don’t have total control over nature. Just call us, and we will send up wildlife management people or pest control to get rid of any small animals or bugs for you.
-Will the hot tub be clean for my arrival?
Absolutely. Every hot tub is emptied, cleaned and refilled between stays. In fact the water may still need time to heat up on the day of your arrival. Just keep the cover on the hot tub and turn on the jets, as this will heat the hot tub quicker. To keep your hot tub clean for the length of your stay, keep the cover on the hot tub when not using it and rinse off your skin in the shower before entering the hot tub. Unwashed skin will dirty a hot tub quickly, and we only drain & clean the hot tubs after check-out. If there is sediment in your hot tub upon check-in, it is because your cabin’s water comes from a well.
The Vacation Guarantee is 7% of your total reservation and enables you to receive a full refund, less the cost of the guarantee, up to 30 days prior to your arrival for a 1 to 4 bedroom cabin, and up to 60 days prior to arrival for 5 bedrooms and larger. Once inside those time periods, the Vacation Guarantee would allow you to reschedule your stay. Though the Vacation Guarantee is an optional charge, Aunt Bugs has a no refund/no reschedule policy without it.
*Rescheduled stays will have 6 months to come and must stay in the original cabin booked.
The cabin was exactly as pictured and described. It was clean and cozy. The only problem we experienced was that the main floor was a little on the warm side while the lower level was extremely cold!
