Ober Gatlinburg returns to its Bavarian roots with the celebration of the world-renowned Munich, Germany festival, Oktoberfest. The festival is held in the Ober Gatlinburg Restaraunt and began on September 28 and continues until November 4. The resort will feature Bavarian-style food, music and drinks. The Bavarian Fun Makers Band will also be playing shows Monday-Thursday at 1 and 5 p.m. and then at noon, 2,4 and 6 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. After you sample all the festival has to offer, kick your feet up in one of Aunt Bug’s luxury cabins. We have some available on the same road as Ober Gatlinburg as well as all over the county.
The 15th Annual Taste of Autumn is a great way to sample some of the best cuisine in the Smokies and you’re also giving to a great cause with 100% of the proceeds going towards the United Way of Sevier County. The event will host around 20 of the area’s best restaurants including: Cherokee Grill, Bubba Gump’s, Hard Rock Cafe, Calhoun’s and Dick’s Last Resort. Attendees can eat unlimited samples. It is held at the Gatlinburg Convention Center on September 27, admission is $25 per person. After you get your fill of the food there will also be live jazz music from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. performed by Milly Palmer Jazz.
If you’re visiting the Sevier County area this September 3-8 you can rub elbows with the locals at the Sevier County Fair. There will be livestock and poultry exhibitions as well as nightly entertainment and demonstrations. Some of the feautured events include a performance by Downtown 5, a lawnmower and tractor pull, Fairest of the Fair beauty pageant, storytelling by Bill Landry of “The Heartland Series” and the Dixie Stampede “Whoadeo”. Of course there are always the rides too!
Children under 10 get FREE admission and for those 11 and over admission is $5.
This Labor Day weekend you and your family can meet and greet world renowned artists from all over the country at the 8th Annual Gatlinburg Fine Arts Festival held at Arrowmont.
